Dr. Aly Elgeddawi
Dr. Elgeddawi grew up in Virginia with his parents and two brothers. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from George Mason University before moving on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Howard University College of Dentistry. Upon graduation, he completed a one year general practice residency at Columbia-Harlem Hospital in NYC, where he received extensive training in the areas of cosmetic dentistry, periodontal surgery, and endodontic therapy. Dr. Elgeddawi is additionally certified in the Chao Pinhole Technique. Patient care and comfort are always his first priorities! Dr. Elgeddawi enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and soccer.
Dr. Hisham Barakat
Dr. Hisham Barakat graduated from dental school in 1998. He then completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency (AEGD) at Louisiana State University. He also completed a two-year General Practice Residency (GPR) at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC).
Following both of these, he joined a large group practice in Virginia Beach, where he served from 2003-2010. During this time, he was both a board member and a core doctor.
Dr. Barakat is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology (ABOI). Doctors with the ABOI/ID have to complete a rigorous exam to prove their high level of knowledge and proficiency in implant dentistry. Dr. Barakat is one of just 445 dentists certified by the ABOI in the United State and one of 10 practitioners in Virginia to hold this certification.
In addition to this, Dr. Barakat has been awarded Mastership status in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD). To achieve this, he was required to attend over 1,100 hours of continuing education covering all phases of dentistry, 400 of which involved participation courses and case presentations.
Dr. Barakat is a credentialed member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) and has been awarded Fellow status. Dentists who receive this honor have been certified by their peers and have worked hard to meet national standards of education and practice in oral implantology.
He is also a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI), which is the highest credential offered by this internationally recognized organization for dentists who have shown excellence in Dental Implantology.
Furthermore, Dr. Barakat also enjoys lecturing both nationally and internationally about implant dentistry to help increase the education of his fellow dentists.
Dr. Barakat currently serves as a part-time faculty member at the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. He also served as the Continuing Education Chair for the Academy of General Dentistry Virginia Chapter.
In 1996, Dr. Barakat completed the Medical College of Georgia/ AAID MAXI-COURSE in Implant Dentistry, the Maxi-Course is among the most respected and comprehensive training programs in implant dentistry. Offered in university settings throughout the U.S. and internationally, the course presenters include renowned university faculty, world-class clinicians and the country's top authorities in implant dentistry.

Emily - Dental Assistant
Emily grew up in McLean, Virginia. She spent many summer breaks, weekends, and winter breaks helping her dad, Dr. Brown, at the office. Upon graduating from James Madison University, she decided to teach kindergarten for a few years before the wonderful field of dentistry lured her back. Emily enjoys spending time with her husband, David, their son, Nicholas, and their daughter, Isabelle. In her spare time, Emily loves hanging out with friends and family, playing soccer, traveling, and watching UNC basketball.
Michelle grew up in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to Virginia in 1987. She and her husband Dave have three sons. Michelle has worked in the medical field since 1987. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, hiking, and cooking delicious food!
Wanda - Scheduling Coordinator
Wanda first joined our team because it would give her an opportunity to work part-time while her boys completed their schooling. She continues to enjoy working as part of our front office team and always looks for any opportunity to help the families who enter our office. When she’s not helping patients, she enjoys traveling. She once lived overseas for five years in England and Sicily. Sicily remains her favorite place because of its fantastic beaches.
Regan - Dental Assistant
Reagan is originally from Indiana but now lives in Virginia because her husband is stationed in Washington, D.C. She has always been interested in the dental field. Reagan even volunteered as a dental assistant while living in Italy. She enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with her dog. And Reagan loves giraffes!
